Emergence Insurance has announced two senior leadership promotions as the business continues to strengthen its position as a specialist cyber insurance provider across Australia and New Zealand.
The appointments reflect the company’s ongoing investment in operational excellence, product innovation and broker service.
Tim Barratt appointed Chief Operating Officer
Tim Barratt has been appointed Chief Operating Officer after more than a decade with Emergence Insurance. Tim has been part of the business since its earliest days, helping build the operational and underwriting foundations that continue to support Emergence today.
Over the past 10 years, he has worked across underwriting, broker engagement, product development, technology and operations, helping shape the systems, processes and platforms that underpin Emergence’s specialist cyber insurance offering. As Chief Operating Officer, Tim will oversee operational strategy, governance, compliance and underwriting security relationships, supporting the company’s continued growth.

Claudia Figueira appointed Head of SME
As part of its evolving leadership structure, Emergence has created the new role of Head of SME, appointing Claudia Figueira to lead its SME underwriting function across Australia and New Zealand.
Claudia brings more than 20 years of experience across financial lines, risk management, underwriting and broking. Since joining Emergence, she has specialised in cyber insurance, leading initiatives to improve underwriting processes, customer service and operational efficiency while working closely with underwriting and technology teams to deliver workflow improvements and stronger renewal outcomes. Claudia’s collaborative approach to leading and developing the SME underwriting team makes her well placed to step into the newly created role.

These appointments form part of a broader evolution of Emergence’s leadership structure as the business continues to grow and expand its specialist cyber capabilities.
